What is the Multi Path Measurement?

Clamp-on Ultrasonic Flowmeter requires the installation of transducers onto a pipe surface.
One pairs of transducers emit and receive Ultrasonic mutually. Transducers detect the flow velocity and calculate how many amount of flow is flowing in the pipe.
Normally one pairs of transducers are enough to measure the flow, however we have the certain situation which have the turbulence in the flow sometimes. The turbulence of the flow may cause the fluctuation of the gained value.
When we faced such situation, the multi path measurement will be the strong solution.

Multi path means multi pairs of transducers. We can get the stable value by multi access to the water in the pipe. The turbulent flow may have the varied flow velocity among the water (For example: at near wall and center of the pipe). The multi access to the water can make the averaged value and indicate. It will help customer who need to get the stable and reliable data without fluctuation.

Portable UW-P series have 2-path function and Stationary UW-10 have 2-path and 4-path function.
You can find the compared data between each single paths and 4-path from the photo below and it is very stable.
