About TOKYO KEIKI
TOKYO KEIKIis a general manufacturer of measurement, cognition, and control devices that support the infrastructure of daily living through a variety of precision instruments. Using cutting-edge technology, we create products that replicate the functions of the human senses.
Accurately measures the direction of ships and displays their
locations. This makes it possible to steer ships in safe and
efficient courses through automatic rudder control.
Gyrocompasses
Autopilot
ECDIS
Measures the flow of water at water treatment plants, etc., and
contributes to the provision of safe drinking water. They are
broadly useful for the effective utilization of water resources,
such as monitoring the flow of water discharged from dams and
agricultural water.
Ultrasonic flow meters
Protects offices, factories, museums, and other valuable assets that
would be damaged by water, from fires.
Gas-based
extinguishing system
Controls cameras and antennas to prevent the loss of video signals
from media helicopters and mobile TV broadcast vehicles.
Antenna
directioning system
Camera
stabilizer
Supports automated driving in fields. This contributes to the
streamlining of agricultural work.
Linear-motion
assistance for agricultural vehicles
Detects menacing radar irradiation among the various radar waves
that surround aircraft. It issues a warning to protect pilots.
Radar warning
receiver
Uses multiple "eyes" such as ultrasonic waves, lasers, and cameras,
to detect and record damage, even inside rails. This contributes to
railroad safety.

TOKYO KEIKI's Development
Since its founding, the TOKYO KEIKI Group has continued to address societal issues. Our history has been a trajectory of taking on challenges relentlessly, which is in our DNA.
Company founder Yoshihira Wada: father of the "measuring instrument"
TOKYO KEIKI's founder Yoshihira Wada was driven by the desire to
create products that would be useful in the nation's development. This
desire led him to found Wada Keiki Seisakusho, Japan's first measuring
instrument factory. He worked on the research and development of
measuring instruments and contributed to the development of
Japan’s measuring instrument industry. At the time, Wada came up
with the Japanese word keiki, taking a hint from the English
expression "measuring instrument." Today, the word is in wide general
use.
Founding to the 1940s:
Promotion of domestic production as a pioneer in nautical instruments
From the time the company was founded in 1896, it promoted the
domestic production of nautical instruments, for which Japan had been
relying on imports. Beginning with magnetic compasses, the company has
since continued to develop and supply gyrocompasses, the gyropilots
that were the forerunners of today's autopilots, and other products.
Further, the company engaged in original development of aeronautic
instruments and instruments for submarines as well.
1950s to 1970s:
Expansion of core technologies and contribution to the development of
Japan’s key industries
The company began manufacturing hydraulic devices in the 1950s. This
contributed to the development of Japan's key industries. In 1963,
TOKYO KEIKI succeeded in practical application of the world's first
ultrasonic flow meter. The company subsequently expanded its
technology, including the development of products that utilized
ultrasound technology, and electronic application devices for use in
aircraft, and grew into a general manufacturer of precision
instruments.
1980s to the present:
Taking on the challenge of resolving social issues through niche-top
business
Efforts were also invested in inertial sensor technology that applied
and further developed gyro technology, as well as microwave
technology. By combining core technologies, we have been able to
develop products that have taken the top shares in diverse niche
markets, including shipping, aviation, railroad, disaster prevention,
agriculture, and energy, thereby supporting the foundation of safe and
secure society and daily living.

from FY2021, in addition to strengthening the foundations of our existing
businesses, we worked to identify, incorporate and develop growth drivers.
The 3-year period from FY2024 is the phase of "leap toward growth" in
order to transform us into a stage where we can achieve sustainable growth
and increase corporate value over the medium to long term.
Medium-term Business Plan Basic Policy
For this new phase, in order to shift to a stage where we aim for sustainable growth and medium- to long-term enhancement of enterprise value, we have modified our basic policies to focus not only on expanding sales but also on expanding profits. In addition, another of our basic policies will be to bolster the foundation for improving profit margins and expanding sales.
